Open Doors Days at Teide Observatory (8th and 9th July)

Teide Observatory (Observatorio del Teide aka OT), is an astronomical observatory on Mount Teide, Tenerife, operated by the Instituto de Astrofísica de Canarias.

Anybody who wants to get to know this observatory can go in a group to visit the telescopes, make their own observations and learn basic astronomical concepts.

From 10.00 to 15.00, guided visits to the telescopes will be arranged, and workshops and direct observations will be carried out with the aim of explaining what an astronomical observatory does, how telescopes work and why astronomy is so relevant for humankind. The visitors will be able to enter the IAC-80 telescope and the Carlos Sanchez Telescope (TCS), also the Solar Laboratory, the Optical Ground Statoin (OGS) and the Solar Vacuum Tower Telescope (VTT).
